The Captain
Captain Spencer Kight was born and raised in Mississippi. He fell in love with the outdoors at a young age and knew it would be a part of his life forever. His passion for saltwater fishing was derived from his inshore fishing experiences on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in his youth. Though he visited Dauphin Island as a child, it was not until returning in 2012 in pursuit of offshore fishing adventures as an adult that he realized the island was destined to be his home one day. In 2020, he obtained his captain's license so that he can share his passion for the outdoors and saltwater fishing with others. After trekking back and forth from MS to AL for nearly a decade to fulfill his saltwater addiction, he finally made his dreams come true in 2021 and relocated his family to Dauphin Island.

Though Alabama only has 60 miles of coastline, it has the largest artificial reef program in the United States spanning across approximately 1,060 miles of offshore waters. The Alabama Marine Resources Division has used a multitude of different materials over the decades to create reefs throughout the inshore waters and up to 55 nautical miles offshore. These man made habitats have proven to be extremely effective at increasing the reef fish populations including Red Snapper, Gray Triggerfish, Grouper, Amberjack and more.
